Calendar February 21 - 23, 2018 to join your fellow CAMSA members at the 2018 Annual California Main Street Conference in Pleasanton, California. Hosted this year by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, it's your annual opportunity to gather with regional counterparts, share best practices, and learn new strategies to implement back home.Downtown Pleasanton Logo

A gateway to the Tri-Valley and Livermore Wine Country, Pleasanton goes by many names, including "The City of Planned Progress." Fortunately, progress has only enhanced the downtown, which continues to honor its history while integrating vibrant, contemporary opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

Pleasanton's roots harken back to the Wild West of the 1800s. Main Street's quintessential charm made it an ideal movie set for Charlie Chaplin in the early 20th century, and it was also home to PTA Founder Phoebe Apperson Hearst. During your visit, you'll stroll past gently restored buildings such as the Veteran's Hall, Museum on Main, and Pleasanton Hotel, and savor wines, beers, and traditional and contemporary meals at one of the many nearby restaurants.

You'll also want to check out projects that honor Main Street's historic charm include the 220-seat Firehouse Arts Center- the town's original firehouse now serving as a performance theater and art gallery- and a recently-installed "parklet" and bike parking area adjacent to the Saturday Farmer's Market.

The Pleasanton Downtown Association and the conference committee are planning an informative and inspiring program geared for emerging and established programs, vendors and truly anyone who cares about commercial viability and the perpetuation of our historic city centers. Check back for updated conference information here and on our Facebook page.
